Artist Statement I am drawn to making mostly functional, small batch pottery often with colours inspired by nature and the outdoors. I am lucky enough to have a studio set up in my home in Embrun, Ontario.

Artist Statement The creative process is one where I learn to surrender to the artistic intuition and expression, as if the clay had a voice and needed to share a message. I remain curious and open to exploring and learning new techniques and working with different clay bodies. I am intrigued how creating ceramic objects with faces, from animals or humans, may impact someone's mood and sense of connection. It is as if clay was becoming alive through touch and contemplation, reminding us of our childhood for a moment. I work primarily on the wheel, use various hand building techniques or a combination of the two. I principally work with stoneware using underglazes, brush glazes and gold lustre to add a touch of elegance. I am still exploring my voice with ceramics. I enjoy finding new forms and shapes that can be functional for regular use. I am also finding a new interest in exploring sculptures or creating unique vases for display.
